ZERO IS AN ALIEN. Specifically an insectoid alien using a revived human husk for his body. The body horror is real if you can sense that, but he'll ping as only one individual - there's nothing left of the human's mind or soul. He is ridiculously physically powerful and all his insect parts are insanely durable, though the only visible parts are his arms/hands. He is also visibly blind and has sawn down horns.

[ You appear to be on some form of SPACE SHIP. There's so much space outside those big windows, wow.

There is this person... alien...??? staring at you.

Or he would be staring, if he wasn't visibly blind. As it is, it's more of a vague attempt at a stare. He's definitely odd, with his humanoid arms ending in claws held awkwardly to his chest, his sawn down horns, and the general way he is just staring in your direction.
